Post-Operative and Co-Management from ABC Vision
It is important to take care of your eyes. At ABC Vision, it is our goal to make sure that everyone in Sherwood is taken care of. That is why we recommend regular eye exams. At the same time, we also know that some people might end up developing acute eye concerns. Sometimes, these issues will require the attention of an ocular surgeon. Even though our capacity to perform eye surgery is limited, an optometrist from our group will be with you every step of the way.
Reasons Why Eye Surgery Is Needed
There are several reasons why someone might have a form of ocular disease that requires eye surgery. Some of the most common issues include:
- Cataracts: If someone has cataracts, there is a cloudy film that covers the lens of one or both eyes. These cataracts can make it impossible to see. A trained eye surgeon can remove these cataracts and replace them with a synthetic lens. This will clear up someone's visual field.
- Foreign Body: It is also possible that someone might have a foreign body in the eye that has to be removed by a trained eye surgeon. While some foreign bodies can be removed without surgery, this is not always the case.
- Diabetic Retinopathy: Also called diabetic eye disease, this type of ocular disease can rob someone of their vision. A trained eye surgeon can take a look at someone's eyes and improve their vision using a surgical laser.
Post-Operative Care and Co-Management
It is our job to make sure that you are ready for surgery and recover after the operation. Once the surgery is finished, you will come and see us for your follow-up visits. We are going to take a close look at your eyes and ensure that the operation sites are healing appropriately. If you notice any issues, you can call us for assistance. We are going to be here to provide post-op care and co-management.
